This season’s planned The CW crossover event of at least two DC series in the Arrow-verse has been cancelled.

Following in the wake of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” multi-parter in late 2019, The CW last year was developing a smaller-scale crossover of the new “Superman & Lois” series and the second season of “Batwoman”.

However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the network has changed its mind, and the crossover has officially been cancelled. “Batwoman” showrunner Caroline Dries tells TV Line:

“We’re not really able to cross over because physically, we can’t cross crews due to the fear of exposure to COVID. So if Supergirl weren’t ending this year, I would say there would be more of a possibility. But I’m afraid that at least this year, we’re not going to be able to tap into that dynamic.”

Also at the time, the crossover was first announced, Ruby Rose was still slated to hold the mantle of Batwoman, and it’s unclear if her abrupt exit impacted the proposed crossover. The new season of “Batwoman” kicks off this Sunday while the new series “Superman and Lois” debuts February 23rd.
