In a surprise exit, Cush Jumbo is departing “The Good Fight”. Jumbo originated the role of attorney Luca Quinn on the final season of “The Good Wife,” before jumping over to “The Good Fight” where she’s been a major cast member since the show’s inception.
The recent fourth season concluded three episodes early which precluded series creators Robert and Michelle King from wrapping up Jumbo’s storyline. However the pair are working on a way for her to return as a guest star next season to allow her to do that.
The news follows just three months after the exit of co-star Delroy Lindo as Adrian Boseman who will step away from the show next season to star in ABC’s “Harlem’s Kitchen”. Like Jumbo, it’s expected he will be back for a few episodes to wrap up his storyline.
One difference is Jumbo has released a statement indicating she’s keen to move on, whereas Lindo has very much left the door open for his return at a later date.
The series has seen some notable exits of early cast members over the years including Justin Bartha, Erica Tazel and Rose Leslie. Plenty of regulars remain including Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart, Audra McDonald’s Liz Lawrence, Sarah Steele’s Marissa Gold, Nyambi Nyambi’s Jay DiPersia, Zach Grenier’s recently returned David Lee, and John Larroquette’s newly joined Gavin Firth along with the shows stacked recurring and guest cast members.
