The upcoming twelfth season of Larry David’s long-running comedy “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is looking to be the end.
THR reports that according to sources, the already announced Season 12 wrapped filming this week and the final episode “felt like a homecoming”.
Jon Hayman, a writer and producer, shared a since-deleted tweet with a photo of himself with David. In the tweet, he mentioned “shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.”
Similarly, ‘Curb’ co-star Richard Lewis also tweeted about filming his last scene, saying: “There I was a few hours ago in my trailer on location to shoot my last scene of #Curb1. Hard to believe we started in 2000. The cast and crew all knew we were working for a genius. When that rarity happens, no one ever takes a moment for granted. We love you LD.”
Of course, does ‘Curb’ ever really end? HBO has long had an open-door policy with the series – letting David take breaks for years until he decides creatively that he has more ideas.
One key difference this time is that David’s current pact with HBO ends this year, so any potential new seasons past the twelfth will require a whole new deal to be put into place.
The forthcoming season does not yet have a premiere date beyond sometime later this year.
HBO recently finished airing “The Last of Us” and has the fourth and final season of “Succession” currently unrolling in its prime Sunday slot. A final season of “Barry” is also due in April.
