“Crystal Lake” Casts Young Jason Voorhees

“Chucky” and “Long Bright River” actor Callum Vinson is set to play the child version of Jason Voorhees in A24’s upcoming “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” for Peacock.

Vinson is one of five new recurring guest stars hired for the series. Also joining are Nick Cordileone (“Warrior”) as Ralph, Joy Suprano (“Best Foot Forward”) as Rita, Danielle Kotch (“Director’s Cut”) as Claudette, and Phoenix Parnevik (“Bel-Air”) as Barry.

All join previously announced lead Linda Cardellini as Jason’s mother Pamela along with series regulars William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

The series is expected to follow Pamela and her life prior to the events of the first “Friday the 13th” movie. It was originally picked up straight to series at Peacock in 2022.

Brad Caleb Kane serves as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Victor Miller, Michael Lennox, Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, and Tyson Bidner executive produce.

Lennox will direct the first three episodes, Celine Hind and Logan George will direct episodes four through six, and Quyen Tran will direct episodes seven and eight.
