The Criterion Collection have announced “The Complete Films of Agnes Varda,” a 15-disc Blu-ray boxset containing all 39 features, shorts and documentaries created by the famed filmmaker.
A founder of the French New Wave and an international art-house icon, Varda was “a fiercely independent, restlessly curious visionary”. She forged a cinematic vocabulary that blurred the boundaries between narrative and documentary, and entwines loving portraits of her friends, family, and her own inner world along with a social consciousness.
Arriving August 11th, the boxset will also include a ton of special features, along with the late Varda herself introducing each of the films which include such notable works as “Cleo from 5 to 7,” “Faces Places,” “La Pointe Courte,” “Vagabond,” “Le Bonheur,” and “The Beaches of Agnes”.
