Criterion Announces It First 4k Uhd Titles
Warner Bros. Pictures

Criterion has announced its first slate of 4K UHD releases that will begin in November and expand in the months to follow.

The initial slate includes Orson Welles’ “Citizen Kane,” David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive,” Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s “The Red Shoes,” Jane Campion’s “The Piano,” Allen and Albert Hughes’ “Menace II Society,” and Richard Lester’s “A Hard Day’s Night”.

The list is fitting – “Citizen Kane” served as the first Criterion Collection release on LaserDisc almost four decades ago.

Each of these films will also include a Blu-ray as part of the combo, with select films presented in Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos.
