“Creed 4” & “Creed” Spin-Offs In The Works?

Actor Michael B. Jordan makes his directing debut with the upcoming third “Creed” film due in cinemas on March 3rd. But this isn’t likely the end of Adonis Creed’s story.

The new film sees Jordan’s Adonis Creed facing off against a recently released from prison childhood friend named Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) in the ring. Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, and Felicia Rashad reprise their roles from earlier entries.

It marks the first film in the “Rocky” franchise without its creator, Sylvester Stallone, involved as there’s a time jump of five years from the last one with Adonis at a pivotal time in his professional career.

Speaking with IGN as part of that site’s supcoming IGN FanFest, Jordan reportedly confirmed to the outlet that a fourth “Creed” film is “for sure”. He then goes on to say he has other plans beyond another sequel – namely spin-offs: “I just want to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure.”

Penned by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin from a story by Ryan Coogler, the new film is expected to be a strong performer like the last film, but early tracking numbers have not been revealed yet so it’s not clear what box-office projections are expected of the film.

Jordan recently told Collider one way the film’s fights differ from past entries is that the way they’re shot and executed this time is with a “huge Japanese anime influence”.

“Creed III” is slated to hit cinemas on March 3rd.
