Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are set to reprise their iconic “Breaking Bad” roles of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the upcoming sixth and final season of the acclaimed spin-off series “Better Call Saul”.
Co-creator and showrunner Peter Gould broke the news at a PaleyCenter panel event for the show last night. Both are returning in a guest-starring capacity so don’t expect extensive returns to the screen.
Both previously returned to the roles for the 2019 telemovie “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” which served as a coda to the original series.
Actors Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks were also on the panel with Banks asking Gould: “Aaron Paul is like 50 years old playing a 20 years old… I want to know where you guys set the bar.” Paul is currently 42 and first played Jesse in 2008 at the age of 28 with his character’s age being 24 in the pilot.
Odenkirk added that there are more surprises in the upcoming final season so we could be seeing more actors return. The first half of the sixth season is set to premiere April 18th.
