“Coyote vs. Acme” has officially set an August 28th 2026, worldwide release date.
The film was one of several infamously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023 as tax write-offs alongside “Batgirl” and “Scoob! Holiday Haunt” among others.
One key thing with “Coyote vs. Acme”, however, was that the film was completed and reportedly test-screened to great results – only for the studio to bury it.
Ketchup Entertainment then rescued the film, acquiring it in March 2025 for reportedly around $50 million. Now they have to try to recoup the money on the movie, which had a famously long development path.
Landing a Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con today, star Will Forte announced the release date for the film there. A clip was shown involving Coyote’s first day in court, which does not go well.
One scene has Wile E. Coyote recalling all of the ACME products that failed him in his pursuit of the Road Runner – all set to Johnny Cash’s rendition of “Hurt” which many will remember from the “Logan” teaser.
The panel was interrupted briefly by a representative from the ACME Corporation (actor P. J. Byrne) who ‘served’ the entirety of Hall H cease and desist papers and led to a failed attempt to stop a clip from playing.
