Abigail Cowen (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) has been revealed as having joined Tom Lewis, Logan Marshall-Green, Famke Janssen, Nina Dobrev and Eric Dane in the recently completed filming indie period love drama “Redeeming Love”.
Set against the backdrop of the California Gold Rush of the 1850s, the complicated love story follows Angel (Cowen), a young woman sold into prostitution as a child and not knowing any kind of other life, and a man named Michael (Lewis) who follows God’s instruction that Angel is his true love.
Hailing from filmmaker D.J. Caruso and based on the best-selling novel by Francine Rivers which itself is a retelling of the biblical book of Hosea, the film is currently seeking a theatrical distributor.
Shooting on the project wrapped in March in South Africa just before worldwide shutdowns occurred due to the coronavirus pandemic. Cindy Bond, Simon Swart, Wayne Fitzjohn, Michael Scott, David A.R. White and Brittany Yost produce.
