“Cowboy Bebop” Scores Original Actors

The original Japanese voice cast of the classic “Cowboy Bebop” anime series will reprise their roles for the Japanese dub track of Netflix’s upcoming live-action series adaptation launching next month.

The entire main cast will be returning sans Jet’s voice actor, Unsho Ishizuka, who passed away in 2018. All will be providing the voices for the live-action incarnations of their characters for a Japanese dub track available on the English-language series.

Returning cast includes: Koichi Yamadera as Spike, Taiten Kusunoki as Jet, Megumi Hayashibara as Faye, Norio Wakamoto as Vicious, Gara Takashima as Julia, Tsutomu Taruki and Miki Nagasawa as Punch and Judy, Takaya Hashi as Teddy Bomber, Kenyu Horiuchi as Gren, Masako Isobe as Mao, and Romi Park and Hikaru Midorikawa as Shin and Lin.

The live-action take is created by Andre Mac and Jeff Pinkner from a script written by Christopher Yost and Javier Grillo-Marxuach. John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda, Alex Hassell and Elena Satine co-star.

Michael Katleman and Alex Garcia Lopez directed all ten episodes of the series which also sees original anime composer Yoko Kann returning to create the soundtrack.
