Netflix has halted production of the third season of “The Witcher” due to COVID-19. The official halt comes amid online rumors that the series’ main star, Henry Cavill, tested positive for the virus.
In a statement, the streamer only confirms that production has “paused due to COVID and we will be up and running as soon as it is safe to do so.”
The U.K.-based production is familiar with this scenario, having to shut down filming on season two in 2020 due to the virus. Filming on the show’s third season began back in April and the new run isn’t expected to premiere until well into 2023.
