Courteney Cox is set to reprise her role as news reporter Gale Weathers in a fifth “Scream” film for Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures.
Cox joins the previously announced David Arquette who also returns as Dewey Riley.
“Ready or Not” filmmaking team Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) direct the film from a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. “Scream” creator Kevin Williamson and Chad Villella are executive producing.
Filming takes place in Wilmington, North Carolina with additional casting now underway. The original franchise began in 1996 and has so far grossed over $600 million in worldwide box office receipts.
