Overbrook Entertainment and MOTOR have optioned the screen rights for Buddy Levy’s best-seller “Conquistador: Hernan Cortes, King Montezuma, and the Last Stand of the Aztecs” with plans to turn it into a limited series.
The story follows the violent confluence of two empires previously unknown to each other – of Hernan Cortes, one of the greatest conquerors history has ever known, and Montezuma, the complex leader of the ancient civilization that he would oppose.
Don Handfield & Richard Rayner (“Knightfall”) will executive produce.
