Finnish game developer Remedy Entertainment has offered updates on the projects it currently has in development.
These include the follow-ups to their acclaimed 2010 title “Alan Wake” and 2019’s “Control” – both of which are set in the same in-game universe.
At present, the previously announced “Alan Wake” sequel: “is in the full production stage. A lot of work remains, but the game is starting to take a more complete form in many areas. As communicated earlier, Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023” according to CEO Tero Virtala.
Meanwhile “Control” is getting two follow-ups but these aren’t as far along. One is the spin-off going by the codename ‘Condor’ and is in the proof-of-concept stage. The other, codename ‘Heron,’ is a bigger game and likely a direct follow-up to the first. It is “in the concept stage and its prototyping continues”.
Another project codenamed ‘Vanguard,’ described as a free-to-play co-operative game to be co-published with Tencent, is in the proof-of-concept stage.
This follows Remedy announcing last month that it’s also developing a single package containing remakes of the first two “Max Payne” games for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Both games will use Remedy’s Northlight game engine.
