The Jon Hamm-led “Confess, Fletch,” the new film adaptation of the investigative reporter character Irwin ‘Fletch’ Fletcher from Gregory McDonald’s novel series, has set its release plans.
In the film, Fletch will find himself as a suspect in a murder case, all while his own investigation into a stolen art collection puts his heiress girlfriend on the suspect list. The character was famously portrayed by Chevy Chase in two prior films, and Hamm hopes to play the character in multiple films.
John Slattery, Kyle MacLachlan, Marcia Gay Harden and Annie Mumolo co-star while Greg Mottola (“Superbad”) directs from a script co-written with Zev Borow.
Miramax has licensed worldwide distribution rights to Paramount Global Content Distribution. As a result, the film will score a limited theatrical release with a day-and-date VOD release on September 16th, and will then premiere on Showtime from October 28th.
