For the second year in a row, July’s annual San Diego Comic-Con celebration will not be held in person and will be going virtual.
A free, three-day Comic-Con@Home virtual event will take place July 23rd-25th though organizers say that a smaller, in-person component is being planned for November.
Comic-Con is expected to be in person for July 2022 as by that point large-scale gatherings are hoped to no longer be a dangerous proposition.
Last year’s event was something of a fizzle as studios mostly stayed away while other more direct events such as DC Fandome in late August and the Disney Investor Day presentation in early December garnering much more traction online.
