“Comey Rule,” “Good Lord Bird” Set Dates

Showtime has announced air dates for two very high profile upcoming event series.

Billy Ray’s two-part four-hour “The Comey Rule,” starring Emmy winners Jeff Daniels as former FBI Director James Comey and Brendan Gleeson as President Donald J. Trump, will air on two consecutive nights Sunday, September 27th and Monday, September 28th.

A week later comes “The Good Lord Bird” starring Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke as John Brown in the story of the events that preceded the American Civil War. The project is based upon the National Book Award-winning novel by James McBride.

That’s not all though, the cabler has acquired the six-episode drama “We Hunt Together” from BBC Studios. This is a classic cat-and-mouse story starring Eve Myles, Babou Ceesay, Hermione Corfield and Dipo Ola in which two conflicted detectives track down a pair of deadly killers. It arrives Sunday, August 9th.

Also on the way are Mike Binder’s five-part documentary series about iconic L.A. club The Comedy Store which arrives October 4th, Matt Tyrnauer’s four-part documentary “The Reagans” on November 15th, and R.J. Cutler’s feature documentary “Belushi” on November 22nd.
