Colman Domingo is set to voice Batman in the Spotify limited series “The Riddler: Secrets In The Dark”. He joins comedian Hasan Minhaj who stars as Edward Nygma/The Riddler.
The new series releases on October 10th and forces Batman to team with The Riddler to stop a mysterious vigilante who is killing Gotham’s villains. The podcast releases October 10th on the streamer.
It serves as something of a follow-up to Spotify’s “Batman: Unburied” podcast with acting veteran Domingo taking over the role from Winston Duke.
The cast also includes Jason Isaacs as Alfred Pennyworth, Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, Calum Worthy as The Messenger, Hannah Simone as Nadira, Peyton Crim as Killer Croc, Jim Pirri as Arnold Flass, Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale, Hugh Scott as Calendar Man, Bri Giger as Summer Gleeson, Aflamu Johnson as King Tut and Amy Argyle as Bat-Tech.
The news comes just a week after Minhaj has been in the news following a New Yorker article claiming he embellished or fabricated key details from his stand-up routines.
Domingo is thought to be a likely candidate in the Oscars race this year for his work in civil rights drama “Rustin”. He won an Emmy last year for “Euphoria” and recently voiced Unicron in this summer’s “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”.
