Colin Farrell is getting the John Wick treatment.
The acclaimed Irish actor will team with the Russo Bros.’ AGBO label for “Ordained,” a film adaptation of an upcoming comic book releasing next month. “John Wick” scribe Derek Kolstad will pen the script.
Farrell will star as Father Roy Craig, a priest who performs last rites on a mob boss who miraculously survives – but not before confessing his crimes to the father.
Soon after, Father Roy finds himself targeted by hitmen, corrupt cops and gangsters – all sent by the mob boss who wants to silence him.
But Father Roy secretly has a violent past that makes him a more dangerous target than anyone imagines. Intriguingly he follows the commandant Thou Shall Not Kill – doesn’t mean he can’t do a lot of damage though.
Multiple studios and streamers are said to be in the mix for the project with Kolstad, Farrell, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco,Dinesh Shamdasani, Claudine Farrell and Benjamin Simpson.
Farrell is coming off his Emmy nomination for HBO’s “The Penguin” and Netflix’s “Ballad of a Small Player”.
