Jason Clarke (“Pet Sematary”), Scott Eastwood (“Suicide Squad”) and Chaske Spencer (“The English”) are set to star in “Wind River: The Next Chapter,” a sequel to 2017’s “Wind River” which starred Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen – neither of whom are returning.

Martin Sensmeier will star and reprise his role as Chip Hanson from the first film. The sequel begins when an investigation is opened into a series of ritualistic murders on the Wind River reservation in Wyoming.

The FBI enlists Hanson, a newly minted tracker for the U.S. Fish & Game, to advise. He soon becomes caught up in a desperate and dangerous fight between the authorities, a vigilante, and the reservation.

Patrick Massett and John Zinman penned the script for the follow-up which will be directed by Emmy nominee and BAFTA award winner Kari Skogland. Shooting is currently underway in Calgary.

Castle Rock Entertainment is backing the project along with, one of several it has in the works alongside the “This is Spinal Tap” sequel and the “Fawlty Towers” revival.

Gil Birmingham, Jon Bernthal, and Graham Greene also starred in the original which was written and directed by “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan. That film made $45 million off an $11 million budget.
