CD Projekt Red has released a cinematic trailer for the upcoming “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty” game expansion, which hits stores on September 26th.
A rather stunning CG recreation of Idris Elba on a train is the focus of most of the clip as he looks like he’s an assassin who is betrayed by his handler. An attack on Air Force One several years later is central to the last half-minute of the clip.
‘Phantom Liberty’ is dubbed a spy-thriller expansion for the base game and sounds “Escape from New York-esque”. You return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President.
In the dangerous district of Dogtown, you must forge alliances amongst shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations.
The expansion ties in with the ‘Cyberpunk 2.0’ update to the game which majorly overhauls almost every system across the title. The game requires a minimum of a GTX 1060 to even run.
This is currently the only planned expansion for the game. “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty” arrives on September 26th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
