Chris Pratt Slips On A “Black Belt”

“Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World” star Chris Pratt has signed on to star in and produce the indie comedy “The Black Belt” at Monarch Media and Indivisible Productions.

Randall Green (“Billions,” “The Perfect Date”) penned the comedic coming-of-age story about a shy, unassuming teen boy on a quest for an expertise in karate, and the unorthodox uncle (Pratt) who guides him along the way.

Pratt, Jon Schumacher, Steve Barnett and Alan Powell are producing. Pratt most recently shot the already completed “The Tomorrow War” and the upcoming “Jurassic World: Dominion”. He has the action film “Saigon Bodyguards,” the TV series “The Terminal List” and the third “Guardians” film all on his schedule to shoot.

Green most recently worked on Warners’ upcoming “Space Jam: A New Legacy” opening next year.
