Chris Evans is set to play the voice of Buzz Lightyear in “Lightyear,” an upcoming Pixar feature film that will go theatrical in 2022.
The film will serve as the “definitive story of the original Buzz Lightyear” which inspired the toy seen in the “Toy Story” movies voiced by Tim Allen. Playing out like a big space epic, “Lightyear” will soar into cinemas on June 17th 2022.
The project is one of two new Pixar features announced for 2022, the other being “Turning Red” by director Domee Shi with that following a girl who becomes a giant red panda depending upon her mood. It arrives three months earlier on March 11th 2022. Both films are expected to go theatrical.
