Chris Evans On Missing “Avengers: Doomsday”

Marvel

Chris Evans is currently out everywhere promoting Celine Song’s new romantic drama “Materialists” which is scoring very good reviews with a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and 79 on Metacritic.

Evans is doing a ton of interviews for the film, the press tour taking place while Marvel Studios is in the midst of production of “Avengers: Doomsday”.

Evans’ name has not been announced as part of that film’s cast list, with many wondering if he’ll return either as his original MCU role of Steve Rogers/Captain America or in a new role.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Evans says he’s not involved in anything to do with “Avengers: Doomsday” at this time even as he still talks to the Russo Brothers and Robert Downey Jr. frequently:

“I talk to them all the time. It’s where Pedro is right now. I mean, it’s sad to be away. It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party.”

“Avengers: Doomsday” is the first of two new “Avengers” movies on the way with the second, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” expected to be the one where basically every Marvel hero you can think of will appear.

“Avengers: Doomsday” opens December 18th 2026 with “Avengers: Secret Wars” coming December 17th 2027.
