Its been a busy day for proposed screen adaptations of literary works.
First up, Quality Transmedia is developing a live-action television series based on John Layman and Rob Guillory’s popular comic “Chew”.
The story follows a detective who is a “cibopath,” a person who gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats, and is set in a world where bird meats are illegal after a bird flu killed millions of Americans.
Also, Sony Pictures has set “Erin Brockovich” and “The Soloist” scribe Susannah Grant to adapt Rick Yancey’s young adult sci-fi novel “The 5th Wave”.
The first installment in a planned trilogy, the story follows a 16-year-old girl who survives an alien invasion only to search for her abducted brother with the help of a boy who might be an alien in disguise.
