Charlie Hunnam has been set to star in a film adaptation of photographer and filmmaker Ben Moon’s memoir “Denali: A Man, a Dog, and the Friendship of a Lifetime” for Spyglass Media Group.
The story follows Moon’s cancer diagnosis through the eyes of his canine friend who narrates the tale. The property was adapted as a short film in 2015 – a short that racked up more than 14.5 million views on Vimeo – ahead of the book’s eventual publication in January.
Max Winkler is writing the screenplay and will direct the film, while Hunnam will star as well as produce along with Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger.
