Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that actor Charlie Cox will be the MCU’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil should the character return at some point.

Feige confirmed the casting with Cinema Blend this weekend during the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” press tour, his first official comment about Cox’s potential to reprise the role he played in Marvel Television’s Netflix series “Daredevil” across three seasons. Feige however wouldn’t indicate where we’ll first see him:

“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Rumors have been insistent that Cox is returning in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in a scene as Matt Murdock, though neither Feige or Sony has commented on the matter. Cox himself, much like Andrew Garfield, has played coy so it’s still not confirmed if he’s in there or not.

Adding fuel to the fire is a scene in the recent third episode of “Hawkeye” where a brief few second appearance of a character’s hand and a brief chuckle which suggests a key co-star from Marvel’s Netflix shows is also part of the MCU going forward.

All three seasons of “Daredevil” are still streaming on Netflix. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is set for release on December 17th.
