Charlie Cox On Early “Daredevil” S3 Filming

Marvel

Promotional rounds are underway for the second season of Marvel & Disney’s “Daredevil: Born Again” with stars like Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio out giving interviews ahead of the launch next week.

At the same time, filming has just gotten underway on the show’s third season with the actors doing their interviews outside of their filming commitments. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Cox confirmed that he had been shooting this week:

“I literally finished shooting at like 7 o’clock last night. I’m doing action sequences, and I’m getting cut a lot [in the scene]. And I had all these fake scars and fake blood all over me. And I flew out this morning, got to the hotel, and went straight to the sauna to try and relax a little bit. And there’s a guy in there who looks at me and goes, ‘Jesus Christ, man, are you okay?’ [Laughs] And I was like, ‘Oh no, no, no, it’s makeup, it’s fake.’ He was like, ‘You sure?’ Yeah, it was pretty intense.”

A lot of conversation however is revolving around Cox and D’Onofrio’s beards. The actor, who is normally clean shaven or with light stubble as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, has been sporting a thick beard.

There’s speculation he and D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, could find their characters behind bars in the third season. Others suggest the storyline will adapt Chip Zdarsky’s run on the comic which involves crime syndicate The Hand – the group were bad guys in the second seaosn of the original Netflix “Daredevil” and the “Defenders” mini-series and were seen returning in the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” trailer this week.

Speaking of Spidey, Cox also touched upon a potential cameo in that film during the Kimmel interview, saying: “No. Now, if I were in the movie, I would also say no, to be clear. Right. But I’m not in the movie. I’m definitely not in the movie..but I could be lying.”

The second season sees Mayor Fisk holding the city under his foot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. At the same time, Matt will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire.

“Daredevil: Born Again” returns to Disney+ on March 24th.
