Charlie Cox Denies “Spider-Man” Involvement

“Daredevil: Born Again” star Charlie Cox wants to make it clear that his Matt Murdock/Daredevil character is not in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”.

Recent rumors have cropped up that the character could make a potential appearance in the film. Cox did a cameo in the role in the previous “Spider-Man” film while events in the movie are expected to have ties to events that took place in “Daredevil: Born Again”.

Naturally the rumors swirled from there, but Cox spoke with interviewer Brandon Davis over the weekend and deliberately went out of his way to shoot down the talk – bringing it up before Davis even had a chance to ask about it.

Cox said: “I know that they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not. I’m not in Spider-Man.”

Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the new film from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo co-star in the film.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will open in cinemas on July 31st 2026.
