Three quite different projects have locked down dates today.
First up, Gun Interactive has finally revealed the release date for “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” game. The asymmetric multiplayer title is coming out on August 18th on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms as well as Game Pass. A technical test will kick off on May 25th only on Steam.
Next up, RLJE Films has acquired the rights to the Nicolas Cage and Joel Kinnaman-led psychological thriller film “Sympathy for the Devil” with plans for a July 28th 2023 release.
“The Secrets We Keep” helmer Yuval Adler directs the film in which Kinnaman’s The Driver as he finds himself in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse after being forced to drive a mysterious man known as The Passenger (Cage) which “sets things up for a white-knuckle ride”.
Then comes Lionsgate announcing that the drama “Ordinary Angels” starring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson will score a wide theatrical release on October 13th.
Jon Gunn helms the film about a struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters.
Finally, Showtime has unveiled an April 14th premiere date for their documentary feature “Personality Crisis: One Night Only” about New York Dolls frontman David Johansen.
Directed by Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi (“The 50 Year Argument”), it is framed around an intimate cabaret performance filmed in January 2020 at Cafe Carlyle in New York.
It explores the glam punk legend’s enormous influence as he discusses the stories and music illuminating the art and cultural evolution of the city.
