CBS has cancelled two major series, whilst handing out renewals for two more.

First up, and hot on the heels of news of a new Hawaiian-set spin-off series, the network has opted to cancel “NCIS: New Orleans” which will wrap on May 16th at the end of its current seventh season.

The Scott Bakula-led drama, the youngest show in the franchise, will still have racked up over 150 episodes by its end.

A similar story is happening with the Chuck Lorre-produced and Allison Janney-led comedy series “Mom,” bringing to an end CBS’ current longest-running half-hour series.

That show will end on May 6th after eight seasons. The show’s lead co-star Anna Faris appeared in the first seven seasons but opted not to return for the eighth.

The ends of both shows come as CBS has handed out early renewals to “Bob Hearts Abishola” and the Cedric the Entertainer-led “The Neighborhood” for third and fourth seasons respectively.
