Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Cats” arrives this week and, as the trailers have shown, people are weirded out by the heavily CG augmented human performers who have had all sorts of changes made to their appearances to play their characters.
One unexpected change though has just been revealed today. Speaking with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show, musician Jason Derulo has revealed that the CG artists on the film had to digitally airbrush out the very ample penis bulge he sported whilst playing his character of Rum Tum Tugger.
The R&B star says the actors wore tight tights throughout the production and DeRulo says they “CGI’d the dick out”. Asked by Cohen if he thought “they airbrushed your penis out of the Cats” he added “125 percent. I could see it in the trailer, for sure”.
In fact, one of his co-stars was very aware of how his package looked. Derulo says: “Rebel Wilson was talking about on a show we were on. She was like… ‘I was around that for four months, I know exactly'”.
How much money was spent on the effects to remove all trace of the prodigious wanger is unclear at this point, same goes for other actors on set such as Idris Elba who probably had similar dick print erasure.
The Haitian-born Derulo made headlines last month after posting a photo of himself in just briefs on social media, a picture quickly removed by Instagram for obscene content because of the large bulge (what he dubs his ‘anaconda’) seen snaking around towards his left hip.
“Cats” opens in cinemas on December 20th.
