Cate Blanchett is keeping busy.
Having just signed on to the film adaptation of the “Borderlands” video game franchise, and currently appearing in FX’s TV series “Mrs. America,” the actress is now lining up two more projects with celebrated auteurs.
First up, Collider reports that Blanchett is in talks to star opposite Jennifer Lawrence in “The Big Short” and “Vice” helmer Adam McKay’s upcoming comedy “Don’t Look Up”. That film follows two astronomers that go on a media tour to warn the Earth that an asteroid is expected to make impact with the planet in six months.
Next, Variety reports that Blanchett is also set to join “Ad Astra” and “The Lost City of Z” director James Gray’s new film “Armageddon Times”. That film is based on Gray’s early life attending the Kew-Forest School in Queens where Donald Trump was an alumnus and his father Fred Trump served on the school board.
It’s not clear when either project will begin filming due to the current shutdown conditions.
