Frank Grillo (“The Purge Anarchy”) and Maggie Q (“Designated Survivor”) will star in Michael Mailer’s dramatic thriller “Cutman” which was penned by Tiffany Heath. Grillo will play an over-the-hill boxer who begins working as the muscle for a local gangster. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets a young girl whose mother is a heroin addict (Maggie Q). Brendan Gleeson is in talks to play King Duncan opposite Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand in Joel Coen’s new film adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” for A24. Scott Rudin is producing.
Washington plays a general who is convinced by a trio of witches that he is destined to become the king of Scotland. With the help of his ambitious wife (McDormand), Macbeth tries to seize the crown by any means necessary.
