“The Good Wife” and “The Fall” alum Archie Panjabi has joined the third season of “Snowpiercer” at TNT. She will play a character named Asha in the series which also stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright. [Source: UPI]
National Parks
Billy Campbell has been cast in a lead role of the Kevin Costner co-written and produced ABC drama pilot “National Parks”. The series follows the small group of elite NPS agents as they solve crimes while protecting national parks across the United States.
Campbell will star as Cal Foster, an experienced ISB special agent who has worked in the field for years but is now stepping into a new leadership role. [Source: Deadline]
Peacemaker
Alison Araya (“Riverdale”) and Lenny Jacobson (“Narcos: Mexico”) have scored recurring roles in “Peacemaker,” the upcoming HBO Max spin-off series based on John Cena’s character in James Gunn’s upcoming “The Suicide Squad” feature.
Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Araya and Jacobson will play married couple Amber and Evan. Gunn is writing and directing multiple episodes with the show currently in production. [Source: Variety]
The First Lady
Aaron Eckhart has signed on to play President Gerald Ford opposite Michelle Pfeiffer as First Lady Betty Ford in the upcoming Showtime anthology series “The First Lady”.
The show is described as a reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House. The series also stars Viola Davis as Michelle Obama along with Jayme Lawson, Kristine Froseth, Pamela Adlon and Rhys Wakefield. [Source: Variety]
Conversations With Friends
Joe Alwyn, Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane and Jemima Kirke have landed the four lead roles in Hulu and BBC Three’s twelve-episode series adaptation of “Normal People” author Sally Rooney’s book “Conversations With Friends”. Filming begins later this year ahead of a 2022 airing.
Oliver plays a college student navigating a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time. Lane plays her self-assured ex-girlfriend.
