“Mortal Kombat” leading man Lewis Tan will join Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann in Marius Weisberg’s “About Fate”. Tiffany Paulsen pens the romantic comedy about two people who believe in love, but seem to never be able to find its true meaning.
In a wild twist of events, fate puts each in the other’s path on a stormy New Year’s Eve and comedy and chaos ensue. Filming begins in June in Boston. Tan recently closed a deal to star in the thriller “Quantum Spy”. [Source: Deadline]
The Righteous Gemstones
Jason Schwartzman, Eric Roberts and Eric Andre are joining the cast of Danny McBride’s greedy televangelist comedy series “The Righteous Gemstones” on HBO for its currently in production second season.
Schwartzman plays a journalist working on a story on the ministries. Roberts will play Eli’s childhood friend who re-enters his life. Andre will play Texan megachurch pastor Lyle Lissons. [Source: Vulture]
Untitled Kevin Williamson Project
Gideon Adlon (“Blockers”) will star in a currently untitled Kevin Williamson-penned pandemic thriller setup at Miramax. John Hyams will direct the screenplay by Williamson and Katelyn Crabb

God’s Creatures
Emily Watson, Paul Mescal and Aisling Franciosi are set to star in the psychological drama “God’s Creatures” for A24. Saela Davis and Anna Rose Holmer (“The Fits”) direct the project which is currently in production.
