Casting: Ifans, Anderson, Hasselhoff, Zylka

Rhys Ifans (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) has been cast as Sherlock’s older brother, Mycroft Holmes, in the second season of the hit CBS procedural “Elementary”.

Ifans will first appear in the London-shot season two premiere opposite Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock. [Source: The Live Feed]

Joe Anderson (“Twilight: Breaking Dawn,” “The Grey”) has joined the cast of Brett Ratner’s “Hercules” project at MGM and Paramount. Ian McShane, John Hurt, Rufus Sewell and Joseph Fiennes also star.

Anderson will play a marathon runner who serves as a scout for Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) and his mercenaries, reporting on their enemies’ movements. [Source: Empire]

David Hasselhoff and Ray Liotta have joined Joe Carnahan’s action comedy “Stretch”. Liotta and Hasselhoff are expected to cameo as themselves.

The Leftovers
Chris Zylka (“The Secret Circle”) has been cast as the son of Justin Theroux and Amy Brenneman’s characters in HBO’s post-Rapture series base on Tom Perrotta’s novel “The Leftovers”.

Zylka will play an estranged son who has recently dropped out of college and taken refuge with a mysterious guru. Damon Lindelof is producing the series. [Source: ]
