Dune Last Duel Dog Set For Venice

“Killing Eve” and “The Last Duel” actress Jodie Comer is set to star in a series based on Jen Beagin’s upcoming novel “Big Swiss” for HBO, A24 and Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries.

The story follows a woman, who after starting a new life anonymously transcribing sex therapy sessions, becomes fixated with one of the patients which leads to an obsessive, explosive relationship between the two. [Source: Deadline]

Maestro
Matt Bomer is in early talks to join the cast of Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro”, a biopic of iconic composer Leonard Bernstein, at Netflix. Cooper stars as Bernstein alongside Carey Mulligan as his wife while Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg both executive produce. Cooper also produces and co-wrote the film with Josh Singer (“Spotlight”). [Source: Deadline]

Oppenheimer
“Vikings” scene-stealer Gustaf Skarsgard has landed a role in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” feature at Warner Bros. Pictures. Skarsgard will play Hans Bethe, a German-American nuclear physicist who won the Nobel Prize and who is tasked to head the T (Theoretical) division of the Manhattan Project.

He joins a cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, David Dastmalchian and David Rysdahl. [Source: THR]

Immigrant
Juliette Lewis has joined the Hulu limited series “Immigrant” about the darkly comedic origin of the male stripper franchise the Chippendales which hails from “Pam & Tommy” creator Robert Siegel.

Lewis has been cast as Denise, a straight-talking groupie who gains the trust of the troupe’s choreographer (Murray Bartlett). Kumail Nanjiani, Dan Stevens, Nicola Peltz, Annaleigh Ashford, Andrew Rannells, Robin De Jesus and Quentin Plair also star. [Source: TV Line]

Treason
Ciaran Hinds is joining Netflix six-part spy drama series “Treason” alongside Olga Kurylenko, Oona Chaplin and Charlie Cox. “Bridge of Spies” screenwriter Matt Charman serves as showrunner. Louise Hooper directs.

The drama follows Adam Lawrence (Cox), trained and groomed by MI6, whose career seems set until his past catches up with him in the form of Russian spy Kara, with whom he shares a complicated past. Hinds plays Sir Martin Angelis, the boss and mentor of Adam. [Source: Deadline]
