Hong Chau (“Watchmen”) will join Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley in Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film “And” at Searchlight Pictures. Lanthimos directs from a script he wrote with Efthimis Filippou (“The Lobster”). Filming will begin this month in Chau’s native New Orleans. [Source: Variety]

Wise Guys
Emmy winner Debra Messing is in advance talks to play the faithful wife of Robert De Niro kingpin Frank Costello in the mob drama “Wise Guys” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

The period piece follows a pair of Italian Americans who run two separate crime families (Genovese, Costello) during the mid-20th century. De Niro is reportedly playing both the patriarchs. [Source: Deadline]

The Gorge
Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Northman,” “The Queen’s Gambit”) will star alongside Miles Teller in “Sinister” and “The Black Phone” director Scott Derrickson’s new film”The Gorge” at Skydance and Apple Original Films.

Zach Dean (“The Tomorrow War”) penned the spec script for the film which is dubbed a “high-action, genre-bending love story”. Taylor-Joy is currently filming George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa”. [Source: THR]

Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Adam Copeland (aka WWE’s Edge) will play god of war Ares, Suzanne Cryer (“Silicon Valley”) is the mother of monsters Echidna, and Jessica Parker Kennedy (“The Flash”) is the infamous gorgon Medusa in the Disney+ series based on Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” novels.

The trio join previously announced series lead Walker Scobell and series regulars Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries. Filming on the show’s first season is mostly done ahead of a premiere sometime next year. [Source: Variety]
