Untitled Sisters Comedy
Awkwafina and Sandra Oh will play sisters in a new untitled new comedy at Netflix. Jen D’Angelo, who is penning “Hocus Pocus 2,” will write and also produce alongside both actresses, Jessica Elbaum, Itay Reiss, Maggie Haskins and Will Ferrell.

Oh will star as a lonely recluse whose life is upended when her train wreck sister vows to mend their relationship by helping her fulfill a lifelong dream – to appear as a contestant on her favorite game show. [Source: THR]

Bullet Train
Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta,” “Child’s Play”) is set to join David Leitch’s action-thriller “Bullet Train,” an adaptation of Kotaro Isaka’s novel “Maria Beetle,” at Sony Pictures. The story will deal with a number of assassins onboard a high speed train with Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Andrew Koji also starring. [Source: Deadline]

Silver Star
Sydney Sweeney (“Euphoria”) has been set to star in Ruben Amar’s crime drama feature “Silver Star”. Casting for the male lead is underway ahead of an early 2021 shoot in the United States.

The story follows an unlikely couple: Buddy, a 20-year-old fresh out of jail, and Franny (Sweeney), a pregnant 19-year-old. After his botched robbery attempt at the bank that foreclosed on Buddy’s childhood home, he abducts her, triggering an unexpected journey together. [Source: Deadline]

Blackout
Josh Duhamel, Abbie Cornish, Nick Nolte and Mexican mega-star Omar Chaparro will lead the action movie “Blackout” which is set to film in Mexico City from this week. Sam Macaroni helms the project from a script by Van B. Nguyen.

The story follows Cain (Duhamel), who wakes up in a Mexican hospital with no memory. After meeting Anna (Cornish), he discovers who he is but soon finds himself fighting for his life as several warring cartel factions attack him, each looking for something he has stolen. Cain looks towards co-worker and mentor, DEA Agent McCoy (Nolte), for answers. [Source: Screen]
