Marking her first project since her being ditched by “The Mandalorian” and her reps at UTA following some controversial social media posts, fighter-turned-actor Gina Carano is set to star in an untitled action-thriller based on Eric Red’s novel “White Knuckle”.
Carano plays a strong-willed woman who survives an attempt by an infamous serial killer-trucker nicknamed ‘White Knuckle’. Haunted by her encounter and the cops’ inability to catch her tormentor, she partners with a long-haul trucker to find and end the killer.
Red (“The Hitcher,” “Near Dark”) has written the script with Carano to also produce with Dallas Sonnier, Amanda Presmyk and former Fangoria editor Tony Timpone. Tone wise this is going for the likes of “Duel” and “Breakdown”.
Conservative media company The Daily Wire will release the movie exclusively in the U.S. to its members, while also making the movie available worldwide.
Shooting will take place in Tennessee, Utah and Montana beginning in October and the project is aiming for an early-mid 2022 release.
