Following news earlier this month that a new “Evil Dead” film is coming, franchise star and producer Bruce Campbell has confirmed some details and offered up some new ones.
Speaking with Diabolique, Campbell says the official name is now “Evil Dead Rise” and it will be a standalone film with a whole new setting far from the previous films’ infamous forest cabin.
Campbell tells the outler: “We’re getting a new draft in. I don’t think anything will happen until 2021. Full bore ahead, we’re very excited about it. A whole, new ballgame. No more cabin in the woods.”
Lee Cronin (“The Hole In The Ground”) is attached to helm the new installment after being handpicked by franchise creator Sam Raimi.
