Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Where the Crawdads Sing”), Diego Calva (“Babylon”), Jacob Elordi (“Euphoria”), Will Poulter (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”) and new Supergirl Sasha Calle (“The Flash”) are all set to team on “On Swift Horses” at Ley Line Entertainment and FirstGen Content.
The story is based on the novel by Shannon Pufahl and is set in the aftermath of the Korean war. The tale follows newlyweds Muriel (Edgar-Jones) and Lee (Poulter) who are beginning a bright new life in San Diego. However, this newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic younger brother, Julius (Elordi), a wayward gambler with a secret.
A dangerous love triangle is quickly formed, as the three vow to start a new life together in California, but their bid for the American Dream is blown apart when Julius disappears and heads for Las Vegas instead where he meets a blackjack artist named Henry (Calva) who shares his passions.
Muriel embarks on a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and discovering a love she never thought possible. The story follows Muriel and Julius on their separate quests for freedom and love. Calva teased the project recently saying there are some pretty steamy scenes between him and Elordi.
Daniel Minahan will direct the project from a script by Bryce Kass. “Nomadland” duo Peter Spears and Mollye Asher are producing along with Michael D’Alto, Tim Headington and Theresa Steele Page. Filming is now underway in Los Angeles.
