“Train to Busan” and “Psychokinesis” writer/director Yeon Sang-ho is continuing his partnership with Netflix with plans to develop a horror series for the service titled “Hellbound”.
Based on the Korean webtoon “Hell,” the series follows a group of supernatural beings who appear and condemn people to Hell, while a new religious group interprets their actions as the will of the divine.
What unfolds through this crisis is a highly-charged story about people surviving under conditions of utter social chaos. Yeon and illustrator Choi Gyu-seok will work on the script.
Yeon recently filmed in the ‘Busan’ sequel “Peninsula” which opens in August in South Korea.
