It’s official, Legendary Entertainment and Netflix are set to do a sequel to last year’s “Enola Holmes” film with Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill confirmed to be returning as Enola and Sherlock Holmes respectively.
Much of the original film’s creative team, including writer Jack Thorne and director Harry Bradbeer, return for the sequel that once again follows Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola, a gifted super-sleuth who often outsmarts her famous siblings in early 20th century London.
The first film was based on Nancy Springer’s Edgar Award-nominated book series which consisted of six books in total – thus there’s a bunch of material the sequel could mine.
Netflix says an estimated 76 million households chose to watch the 2020 movie in the first 28 days of its September 23rd release.
