Brief “Fall of the House of Usher” Clip

Netflix

Following the first photos and poster hitting the other day, Netflix has released a brief clip of the first footage from Mike Flanagan’s fifth and final series for the streamer – “The Fall of the House of Usher”.

It’s likely this is a tease for the first trailer arriving within the next few days. The eight-episode horror drama will follow the reclusive Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and his twin Madeline (Mary McDonnell) as they do anything to help their family business, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, become the pinnacle of the industry.

The Usher family’s dark secrets start to come to the surface when a mysterious woman begins to haunt them. The series also stars Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Rahul Kohli, Willa Fitzgerald, Henry Thomas, Zach Gilford, and Kate Siegel, among others.

Much like his “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” ‘Usher’ will be an amalgamation of elements from various works by the author of its eponymous story – in this case, Edgar Allan Poe.

Unlike those, this is expected to be less of a slow brun with Flanagan previously describing it as: “aggressive and rock ‘n roll and over the top and just violent and insane and horrific as anything I have ever done… by a lot.”

Netflix has announced an October 12th premiere date for the series. The project marks the end of the road for Flanagan’s work for Netflix and in Vancouver where his four last series were shot.
