Apple TV+ has announced a November 7th launch date for “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” creator Vince Gillian’s new series “Pluribus”.
The nine-episode drama will premiere its first two episodes on that date with subsequent episodes unrolling weekly through December 26th. A second season has already been ordered.
Two-time Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler in “Better Call Saul,” stars in the series as Carol – a woman who is also “the most miserable person on Earth”.
Her mission? She “must save the world from happiness”. Indeed, the show’s tagline appears to be”Happiness is contagious.”
All further story details are under wraps, though it is set in contemporary times. Gilligan has previously teased there’s no crime or drugs in the series, it’s set in our modern world when something “changes very abruptly” on a global scale. The consequences of that change provides drama for many episodes after.
Further cast has also been revealed with Karolina Wydra (“Sneaky Pete”) and Carlos-Manuel Vesga (“Donde Tú Quieras”) as regulars while guest stars include Miriam Shor (“American Fiction”) and Samba Schutte (“Our Flag Means Death”).
Gilligan, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski and Jeff Frost executive produce for Sony Pictures Television.
