Actor-filmmaker Zach Braff has joined the cast of the sci-fi rom-com “Moonshot” being made for New Line and HBO Max.
Max Taxe pens the story which is set in a future where Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer.
Two very different college students wind up joining forces and sneak onboard a space shuttle to the red planet in order to be united with their significant others.
Braff plays the mastermind behind the effort to colonize Mars, an entrepreneur and a visionary said to be Elon Musk-like.
Cole Sprouse, Lana Condor, Mason Gooding, Emily Rudd and Lukas Gage have already been cast in the film which is currently in production. Chris Winterbauer directs while Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Jill McElroy and Jenna Sarkin produce.
Braff is coming off an Emmy nomination this week for his work directing Apple’s comedy series “Ted Lasso”.
