Brad Pitt is set to star in the action-thriller “Bullet Train” at Sony Pictures. David Leitch (“Hobbs & Shaw,” “Deadpool 2”) will direct and supervise a script by Zak Olkewicz.
Based on the Japanese novel “Maria Beetle” by Isaka Kotaro and adapted by Zak Olkewicz (Leitch will oversee a rewrite), the story involved a battle of snipers on the titular high speed train.
Antoine Fuqua originally developed the project and will produce with Leith, Kat Samick, Kelly McCormick. Production schedules are still being worked out so no word on when it might shoot.
Pitt was recently seen in the James Gray’s sci-fi drama “Ad Astra” and will shoot Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon” after this next year.
